The era of travelling theatre in Italy, from the early post-war period to the advent of television with a detour to the present, is told through the voice of those who lived during those years: the Carrara family. They represent one of the last artistic families still active, a theatrical dynasty that is directly descended from the old travelling theatres of the 16th century. Their story is the story of theatre, popular theatre, that no longer exists, and the story of a country, our country, that changed radically from the Second World War to the mid-1960s. In an adventurous journey from the south to the north, departing from Sicily and arriving in Veneto, the Carraras have crossed the entire boot of Italy in the last century. They brought theatre to places where it would previously never have been.

Il documentario  ha ottenuto il cofinanziamento dalla Regione Veneto POR FESR 2014-2020 Asse 3 Azione 3.3.2.
