In the occasion of the anniversary of the flood that hit Venice in 2019, our documentary "City of the Sirens" by Giovanni Pellegrini will be presented as part of the Aquagranda 2019 event organized by Science Gallery Venice and Ca ' Foscari University of Venice. The film will be available online from 6pm to midnight on Thursday 12 November 2020 on the youtube channel Ginko Film and on the Science Gallery Venice website as part of the AQUA GRANDA 2019 digital collective memory project. It will be a truly unique event, which thanks to the online use will be able to offer itself to the widest possible public who cares about Venice and the tormented pages of its more recent history.
The online viewing of the film La città delle sirene will also include a online Q&A with Giovanni Pellegrini by Jacopo Chessa, director of the Veneto Film Commission.

On the night of November 12, 2019 Venice was hit by a series of floods that submerged the city for a week. Starting from the images of his home and his studio flooded the director tells firsthand what it means to live day by day with high water and how his city faces catastrophe. The result is a reflection on living in the forefront of climate change which threatens to make our world disappear.
